Herbert Spencer was the first person to look at sociology from a biological view. Karl Marx came up with the survival of the fittest theory stating we all either evolve with changing atmospheres or die out. Emile Durkheim was the first sociologist to apply scientific methods to sociology (not biological that was Herbert). Max Weber influenced social theory, social research, and the discipline of sociology itself and Auguste Comte invented the word "Sociology", itself.
