  1. I think the cartoon is implying that sociologists are always trying to study humans and how they interact with each other in certain situations, and I think the people in the cartoon might feel like they are being studied by them while they are having their lunch and it makes them feel a little awkward, even if they aren't being watched. I think the sociologists might be watching how they communicate and how they socially interact with each other while they are eating their lunch.

  2. I think that the cartoon makes it seem like sociologists are creepy in a way. Sort of like they're stalking relationships among people, so they can learn how people react in certain situations. To the sociologists, they're just doing their work by learning what consequences that can occur in certain decisions. Whether it be as simple as going on a picnic,or starting an argument, it may make the subject of observation a bit uncomfortable.

  3. The cartoon is implying that sociologist are always watching what you do because they are studying you're actions and how you interact with others. The cartoon also implies that the study of sociology is mostly everywhere you go. Sociologists might be "watching" what you eat, how you eat, how you interact with others and you're surroundings.

  4. 1. In this cartoon, it implies that sociologist study every move you make, such as 'going out with your friends or boyfriend'. They want to study your movements and how you react to things. However, this cartoon shows a couple having a picnic, but the girl has a feeling that someone is watching her movements, and she is now feeling uncomfortable, and is ruing her day day out.
    2. A few things that the sociologists might be "watching" in this picture,is what they are eating, how they are eating, how they are talking to one another, showing their emotions and so much more.

  5. This cartoon is clearly implying that sociologists try to learn as much as they possibly can about human behavior. I feel that sociologists go too far in their research because even simple things in life like picnics are being studied. Not every human reaction is influenced by something major but some are simply natural reactions. The sociologists are most likely watching the expressions of the boy and the girl who are having lunch together.

  6. 1. The cartoon is implying that sociologists study all different cases from simply a way a person is sitting to the way someone is eating or talking. It's all little details about people that reveal why we do certain things in society.
    2. Some things the sociologist can study from this picture is the fear the woman has that someone is watching them even though that may not be so. Some other things could be her emotions towards their conversation, how she is sitting and eating, and why she has that look on her face

  7. I think this cartoon is implying how sociology and sociologists study human behavior by putting the two people together for lunch outside. I think the sociologists are watching how the two people interact with eachother, how they communicate and maybe how they eat and what they eat. The sociologists will watch every little thing these two people do to understand their purpose

  8. I think this cartoon is implying how sociologists will study everything about humans even if its the way they eat. Based on the cartoon, sociologists may be watching the way the two people are eating, how there are eating, where they are eating, what time they are eating, the way they are sitting, etc. In the caption you can see that they are uncomfortable by the words "I always get the feeling that we're being watched." This is implying that they feel like that they may have to eat in a certain manner, for example, with a knife and fork, blanket, plates, and a basket when in reality they probably eat with their fingers, no blanket, food in a cup and a ziplock bag instead of a basket. Most likely if you are feeling that you are being watched and most likely judged or studied you are going to show the "perfect" side of you and not the real you. Because of this, sociologists results may be biased because people always feel the need to be the impossible which is perfect. Sociology may be right some of the times and also wrong because of the pressure that society gives us on being perfect.

  9. As I looked at the cartoon I noticed how the two were very uncomfortable, because they knew someone was watching them-although they tried to make the best of the picnic, you can clearly see that they were not themselves-As people we never want to be judged, we want to be accepted. If we feel that we are being put on the spot than the outcome is going to be superficial not real at all-The study of human behavior around others is what sociologist do. The study of people being social around each other-Different groups of people act differently-why is that maybe its because of who we are-how we were raised-and our overrall values-
This cartoon shows me that when a person knows or feels that they are being watched the outcome of their behavior will not be a true picture of their real behavior-It is a fact when a people feel more relaxed and at home you will defintely get a true picture of how they relate to one another.

  10. I believe the cartoon is trying to insinuate that society is always watching us. We're always being judged and watched, no matter what we're doing and where we are. These two people in particular are being shown in front of the Sociology Department to make us believe that they are being studied or watched in some way. In our society we're always going to be judged, whether we're a celebrity or a normal person we will never stop being watched by each other. And so we learn to deal with that issue in different ways. For example, the girl in the picture wants to eat somewhere else so she'll feel comfortable. We learn to shape our lives according to each other in some ways.

  11. i think the cartoon implies that society is always watching and studying what people do. they pay attention to the clothes you wear, the food you eat, who you are with, etc. the cartoon basically says that people are constantly judged and their behavior is always noticed and looked into.

  12. I think this cartoon is implying sociologist study how females and males interact with one another. They may be studying their body language and how they are eating. They both seem uncomfortable because they know they are being watched, they can not be themselves. The two are always out there for their lunches but now they know they are being watched so their attitudes have changed. I think this cartoon is also implying that in society people change once they know they are being put on the spot.

  13. 1. This cartoon might be implying that sociologists tend to study and observe the habits of the people around them. They want to see how people interact in society, why they do certain things, and observe their tendancies as well as good and bad attributes.
    2. Based on this cartoon a few things sociologists might be watching when observing people, or at least these two particular people, are how they eat, how they interact, why they eat certain things or in a certain way, and even how this couple acts around each other on a date. Sociologists migh be interested to see if they are nervous around each other or if they seem to feel comfortable.

  14. 1. I believe that the cartoon demonstrates how sociologist study humans every move. Watching everything a person does and how they react in a situation. In the cartoon above they show a woman looking very uncomfortable, having the feeling she is being watched, therefore ruining something she loved to do. It is showing people that we are always being judged by others. It also shows once people feel uncomfortable, they want change, they dont adapt quickly showing they are possibly uncomfortable in their own skin.

    2. I believe that when sociologist watch the way people behave around certain things, and different people. I believe they watch people react in different situations. For example friendships, relationships and areguements. They watch what agrivates people and what makes people happy. They try to understand a persons mind, knowing they're all unique.

  16. This cartoon might imply that sociologist observe people in their everyday lives. even though the people being watched might not act the way they would if they weren't being watched. Sociologist watch people to see how they react with one another whether it be a female and male, male and male, or female and female and why they do what they do.

  17. The cartoonist is implying that Sociology is the study of human behavior, for example "watching" people. The two people sitting outside of the Sociology department feel like they're being watched because thats what sociologists do, study or "watch" people. The sociologists could be watching how two members of the opposite sex interact during a lunch date. They could also be observing how the people eat or what they chose to eat.

  18. 1. This given cartoon is implying that sociology focuses on the study of human behavior. Next, sociologists examine how people interact and engage with one another, and the possible reasons why this occurs.
    2. Based on this cartoon, there are many things sociologists might be "watching." To begin with, they might examine the diverse eating habits of men and women. Moreover, sociologists could look at how opposite genders communicate in different ways. Finally, people dislike when other people "watch" them because it makes them feel pressured, and it leads to self-consciousness.

  19. 1. I think the cartoon shown is saying that sociology is the study of human behavior and it is what causes people to feel certain ways or say specific things.
    2. Based on the cartoon, the sociologists could be watching how opposite sexes interact outside or during a meal. They also could have been studying a person who suffers from paranoia and feels that everyone is constantly watching them or a person with a phobia of being outside.

  22. This cartoon is implying that the job of a sociologist is to watch people and see how they interact with eachother. The sociologist might be watching how the couple acts towards eachother and what each person chooses to do when they are together therefore being able to see how each person feels.

  24. I think the cartoon is saying that the study of Sociology is about all things human, like the interactions between two people. Its the study of how people think, behave and feel. I think the cartoons implying that this study can make people feel uncomfortable because they are being watched. Based on the cartoon what sociologists may be watching in this situation is the way they're reacting to each other. They may be watching if one of them is nervous around a different gender or how they sit. They may be watching their eating patterns, and if they continue the eat lunch every week if anything differs from week to week.
